Open House

Join us in-person or virtually to hear updates from the project teams and learn more about the work occurring in the area.

In-person Open House:

  • Date: Monday, March 3

  • Time: 4- 7 p.m.

  • Location: Kensington Legion (1918 Kensington Rd N.W.)

  • Event Parking Information:

  • Limited free underground parking is available in the parkade.

  • Additional street parking is available in the area.

  • Please follow and adhere to the parking signage.

Virtual Information Session:

  • Date: Tuesday, March 11

  • Time: 12-1 p.m.

Gladstone Connect Construction Schedule and Road Closures

Below is an update to construction taking place at the Gladstone Connect Community Drainage Improvements Project. This project is part of the ongoing work The City is doing to invest in utility infrastructure upgrades to enhance resident safety and protect vulnerable areas from damage caused by stormwater flooding. Upcoming construction will be fairly impactful to those living, working and commuting and the work includes the following:

March 19 – March 23

  1. 4 Ave N.W. will be closed between 10 St N.W. to west of the Riley Tower resident parking lot. This will not impact parkade access.

  2. Pedestrian and Wheeling access will be maintained on both sides. 

  3. Access to Riley Tower’s resident and customer parking lot off of 4 Ave N.W. will be maintained.

  4. Another Dimension Comics business access will also be maintained.

  5. Access to Urban Cellars will be off of 10 St N.W.

  6. Hours of work will be 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

March 24 – April 6

  1. 10 St N.W. will be closed north of 3 Ave to south of 5 Ave N.W. 

  2. Access northbound on 10 St N.W will be maintained for Safeway and Riley Tower resident parkade access.

  3. Northbound traffic will be detoured along Kensington Road N.W. to 14 St N.W to 5 Ave N.W.

  4. Southbound traffic will be detoured along 5 Ave N.W. to 14 St N.W. to Kensington Road N.W. 

  5. Pedestrian access will be maintained on both the east and westside of 10 St N.W. between 3 Ave and 5 Ave N.W. for the duration of this work.

  6. Access to Urban Cellars and Riley Tower businesses will be via 4 Ave N.W.

  7. Hours of work will be 24/7 for the duration of this closure. 

We recognize the impact of this closure on residential and commuter traffic, transit users, pedestrians and cyclists and will be proactively communicating this closure in advance to impacted citizens. The attached notice will be delivered to residents in nearby communities.
