This is a community-led project to reimagine our public space.

The current playground is at the end of its life cycle.

Sunnysiders working with HSCA see the need for a basketball court in Sunnyside with the addition of other amenities such as public seating and a food forest.

A food forest is a garden made up of perennial food plants, such as fruit trees, berry bushes, rhubarb, nuts, herbs, and strawberries.

We see an opportunity to increase green space and food security in our neighbourhood as well as improve our public amenities.
