Bowview Outdoor Pool (BOP)
Bowview Outdoor Pool’s tentative opening date is set for Saturday, June 14, 2025!
About
Bowview Outdoor Pool has 2 heated, sanitized, and filtered pools. A 25m 6-lane lap pool with a deep end of 3.05m; offering a 1.8m high waterslide and tot slide. A wading pool of 0.45m which includes a mushroom waterfall feature. The facility includes changerooms for women and men, with coin operated lockers (requires a quarter) and temperature-controlled showers.
All pools are supervised by qualified lifeguards during all business hours. The concession sells prepackaged hot and cold foods and drinks.
All children aged 7 and under must be within arm’s reach at all times. Children 8 - 13 years old must show lifeguards they can safely swim 25m to enter the deep end without adult supervision. Lifejackets are available to use free of charge.
This year, registration for public swim and swim lessons is required and must be done through the Calgary Outdoor Swimming Pool Association’s (COSPA) online booking system. The public swim schedule is available below. A limited number of tickets may be available for walk-up patrons as well.

SWIMMING: PUBLIC | LANE | LESSONS
Registration for all programs, including Public Swim, Lane Swim, Swim Lessons, Private Lessons, Swim Club, and Private Rentals can be completed through the Calgary Outdoor Swimming Pool Association (COSPA) webstore. A limited number of tickets for public swim will be available for drop-in patrons. *

Private Lessons
Bowview Outdoor Pool offers private lessons! Private lessons include one-on-one instruction in the water, working on getting comfortable in the water, stroke improvement, and water safety. Never been in a lesson before? New to the water? Want to perfect your swimming skills? Register for a private lesson today!
Private lessons are offered in Monday-Friday, 5-day sessions, $160 for the session.
We offer semi-private lessons, Monday-Friday, 5-day sessions, $160 for the session. $80 every additional swimmer, up to 3 swimmers in a lesson (e.g. $320 for 3 swimmers).
Important notes on semi-private lessons:
Up to 3 swimmers allowed in one semi-private lesson.
Participants must be pre-arranged before registration; this is not arranged by Bowview staff.
It is recommended that participants are not more than one level apart. Ex. Swimmer 1 and Swimmer 3.
Register for your semi-private lesson through the webstore and then email bowviewmanager@hsca.ca to add your additional participants.
Private Pool Rentals
Have you ever wanted to have the entire pool to yourself? Bowview Outdoor Pool offers private rentals. Your rental will include lifeguard supervision, use of our BBQ, all our lifejackets, and our pool toys!
Rental Costs are $175/hr for 1-40 people and $260/hr for 41-80 people. For more information, visit our Pool Rentals page.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Bowview Outdoor Pool is a not-for-profit organization that belongs to the Calgary Outdoor Pool Association (COSPA). Bowview Outdoor Pool is operated by Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association.
We are always looking for companies or individuals who wish to sponsor our facility. All sponsorship monies or items received go directly to upgrading our facility, programs, lesson, and public swim tools.

GETTING TO BOWVIEW OUTDOOR POOL
The Bowview Outdoor Pool is located at 1910 6th Ave NW, kitty-corner from Queen Elizabeth High School. The pool is easily accessible on foot or by bike from anywhere in the neighbourhood and all swimmers are encouraged to use active transportation when traveling to the pool. To ensure your bike is safe while you swim, HSCA has upgraded its bike racks. The new racks allow you to securely lock your bike’s frame, but please remember to bring your own bike lock.
